Staying Grounded When the World Around Us Feels Uncertain

There is a particular feeling that comes with living through times of war.

Even when we are physically safe, something in the atmosphere changes.

The air feels heavier. There’s palpable tension.
Our nervous system stays slightly on alert.
Phones light up with news alerts, rumours, and messages from friends checking in.

We may notice moments of fear, uncertainty, or simply a vague feeling of unease in the body.

Some days we feel rather grounded.
Other days the constant background tension slowly drains our energy without us even realising it.

These reactions are natural. They are part of how our nervous system responds to uncertainty and perceived danger.

But when this state lasts for long periods of time, it can affect our wellbeing, our sleep, and our emotional balance.

How can we support ourselves energetically and emotionally, even during turbulent times?

A Personal Reflection

I know this feeling well.

I lived through war during much of my childhood. And now, once again, I find myself witnessing another period of conflict.

This time, however, I experience it slightly differently — not only as someone living through it, but also as someone working with energy healing.

Over the years, I have become more aware of how deeply collective events affect our nervous system, emotional state, and energetic field, even when we are not directly in danger.

Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing a small series of reflections and practical tools around energy healing during times of war, based both on personal experience and on my work with energy healing and bioresonance.

The intention is simple: to explore ways we can protect our energy, support our nervous system, and remain grounded during periods of collective stress and uncertainty.

The Emotional Impact of Living Through Conflict

War does not only affect physical landscapes.

It also affects the emotional landscape of entire populations.

When conflict is present — even in the background — many people move down what psychologists sometimes describe as the emotional scale.

Emotions such as:

  • fear
  • anxiety
  • anger
  • sadness
  • powerlessness

become more present.

This is the body’s natural survival response.

Our nervous system is designed to detect threats and prepare us to react.

The challenge comes when the body remains in this heightened state for weeks or months.

Over time, this can lead to:

  • chronic stress
  • sleep disruption
  • emotional fatigue
  • difficulty concentrating
  • feeling overwhelmed by news or uncertainty

This is where grounding practices and energy work can help restore balance.

The Root Chakra and Our Sense of Safety

In many energy healing traditions, feelings of safety and stability are associated with the root chakra, the energetic centre located at the base of the spine.

The root chakra is connected to themes such as:

  • survival
  • security
  • home
  • belonging
  • physical safety

During times of war or instability, the very foundations that support this centre can feel threatened.

When this happens, the root chakra can become energetically destabilised.

Many people experience this as:

  • feeling constantly on edge
  • hyper-vigilance
  • anxiety about the future
  • sleep disturbances
  • difficulty feeling grounded

It is almost as if the foundation beneath us has shifted.

Energy healing practices often focus first on restoring grounding and stability, helping the body remember that safety can still exist within us, even when the external environment feels uncertain.

The Invisible Impact of Collective Energy

Another aspect that is rarely discussed is the collective emotional field that forms during times of crisis.

When large numbers of people experience fear, grief, anger, or uncertainty simultaneously, that emotional energy can become almost tangible.

Sensitive individuals often feel this particularly strongly.

Even when we are having a calm day, reading the news or hearing anxious conversations around us can suddenly shift our emotional state.

This is why it becomes important to care for our energetic hygiene, just as we care for our physical health.

While we cannot control the external events around us, we can learn to care for our inner state and energetic balance.

Energy Management and Healing Techniques – At-Home Tools

The following practices are simple tools that I personally use and recommend.

Of course, I recognise that I am writing from a relatively privileged position where I am physically safe and witnessing events from a distance. Many people are experiencing far more difficult realities.

Still, small daily practices can help us protect our energy, calm our nervous system, and remain centred, even during turbulent times. And this contributes to balancing out the collective energy field.

1. A Morning Protection Ritual

The way we start the day often sets the tone for the hours that follow.

When we wake up, before reaching for our phones, we can take a moment to connect inward.

When we feel grounded and connected to the Divine, God, Spirit — or whatever resonates with us — we can set a simple intention for the day.

We might imagine ourselves inside a protective bubble of light, surrounding the entire body.

Some people like to visualise sacred geometry or symbols of protection around them — above, below, left, right, in front and behind.

Others place meaningful objects nearby that remind them of grounding and protection.

The important part is not the object itself, but the intention we set for our energy field.

2. Raising Our Vibrations Through Nature

One of my personal daily rituals is walking my dog in the morning.

He forces me to slow down and be present.

Instead of rushing into the day, I find myself noticing small details — the sound of birds, insects moving in the grass, the changing light of the seasons.

Right now it is spring, and I often find cyclamen, anemones, and other beautiful flowers growing along the paths. Sometimes I bring a few home and thank them for their beauty and their scent.

Nature has a powerful way of resetting the nervous system.

Even small actions can help:

  • gardening on a balcony
  • touching a tree
  • placing our feet bare on the earth

These grounding moments reconnect us with a more natural rhythm.

3. Gentle Movement and Breath

Movement is another powerful way to release tension from the body.

This does not have to be intense exercise.

Practices such as:

  • yoga
  • Tai-Chi
  • Qi-Qong
  • Pilates
  • stretching
  • conscious breathing

can help regulate the nervous system and release stored tension.

Often the body simply needs permission to relax again.

4. Being Mindful of the Energy Around Us

Energy is contagious.

During times of conflict, conversations often revolve around fear, rumours, and worst-case scenarios.

While it is important to stay informed, constant exposure to negativity can drain our energy.

When possible, we can limit time with people who continuously amplify fear or anger.

When that is not possible, for example with family members, I imagine a vortex of white light carrying those heavy words away, with the intention for the negative energy to be transmuted into positive energy, before they settle in our own energy field.

We’re in essence acting as alchemists of our environment.

5. Reducing Constant News Alerts

It can be helpful to notice what happens in the body when a news notification appears.

Does the heart rate increase?
Do the shoulders tense?

Constant alerts keep the nervous system in a state of continuous vigilance.

Sometimes simply turning off notifications and choosing when to check the news allows the body to return to a calmer baseline.

6. Creating Detachment From the News

War is multi-dimensional, just like we are.

No single expert fully understands everything happening behind the scenes — especially in regions as complex and historically rich as the Middle East, which is the cradle of three major religions.

Try not to get pulled into the emotional drama of the news cycle.

I bring some sense of detachment when I read what’s happening, so that I don’t get clogged down. We are more useful holding positive energy than exacerbating the downward vibrational spiral.

7. Looking for Small Moments of Light

Even in difficult times, small moments of joy and connection still exist and can carry us through for a while.

During periods when travel slows down and schedules become lighter, we sometimes rediscover things we had little time for before.

This period reminds me a little of the slower rhythm many people experienced during covid times.

For some, it becomes a time to:

  • reconnect with family
  • cook
  • exercise
  • learn something new
  • create art
  • spend time in nature

Another powerful support is connecting with like-minded people.

Meditating together, joining online gatherings, or simply sharing conversations with people who bring calm rather than fear can help create a collective field of resilience and support.

Sometimes we realise that even during difficult periods, we can still create moments of beauty and meaning.

8. An Evening Energy Cleanse

Before going to sleep, we can take a few minutes to release the energy of the day.

We might visualise a shower of white light washing away stress, tension, and any heavy emotions absorbed during the day.

Gentle stretches, such as a forward bend or the “happy baby” pose, can also help release physical tension.

Once in bed, we can imagine ourselves once again surrounded by a protective bubble of light and set the intention for:

  • deep rest
  • emotional and mental detox
  • restoration of the body’s natural balance overnight

How Energy Healing and Bioresonance Can Support Us

Beyond personal practices, some people choose to receive additional support through energy healing or bioresonance sessions.

Energy healing works with the understanding that the human being is not only physical, but also energetic, emotional, and mental.

When we experience prolonged stress, trauma, or collective fear, our energetic field can become imbalanced.

Energy healing sessions aim to help:

  • restore energetic balance
  • calm the nervous system
  • release emotional blockages
  • support grounding and inner stability

Bioresonance is a complementary approach based on the idea that the body’s cells and systems communicate through subtle energetic frequencies.

When the body is under prolonged stress — emotional, environmental, or energetic — these frequencies can become disrupted.

Bioresonance technology aims to help support:

  • nervous system regulation
  • sleep balance
  • stress recovery
  • cellular vitality

A Final Thought

Even during times of uncertainty, we still have the ability to care for our inner world.

When we cultivate calm, grounding, and emotional balance within ourselves, we contribute not only to our own wellbeing but also to the collective field around us.

Small daily practices can create powerful ripples.
